Description

This is a Chrysis Egyptian perfume bottle with a unique druggist-style shape. It was made between 1880 and 1891. The trademark was registered in 1880 by Richard Hudnut and the company was sold in 1916. The bottle features a ground neck and a bead rim with an embossed sunburst pattern on the bottom. This bottle was mouth-blown before glass-blowing machine were invented. The bottle has some very unique characteristics which I have never seen before, which are there is six marks that look like cracks in the glass which dose not reach the out surface of the glass. If glass is cool to quickly crack will develop. Bottles like this one is fund in barbershops in late 19th century. Other than that, this Chrysis Egyptian perfume bottle is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, nicks, scratches, repairs, fleabites, stains, wear-marks and has not been modified in any way.
