Description
What we have here is an oblong cut crystal glass celery or relish dish. This dish was called by both names depending on the person identifying the dish. Around the top rim, there is the Crenellated Rim, Vandyke Rim, or the Trefoil Rims again depending on the person identifying the dish, which would be used. Below the rim are 18 hexagonal hobnail cuts in which 9 of them have Fine Diamond pattern in the center and 9 have the Hobstar in the center. On both ends, there is a triangular shape (two on each end) with the Sharp Diamonds pattern cut. In the center of the dish on the bottom are miter cut leaves and stems with two stone-wheel engraving flowers with what looks like a English Strawberry Diamond cut pattern. There is no makers makes to help identify the dish. However, the Tuthill Cut Glass Company may have produced the dish in the late 1940s or early 1950s. It does have some problems with it two bad chips on the inside of the rim, on one side and two chips on the outside of the rim. In addition, there is a number of fleabites around the rims other than that it is in fair condition for being a 70-year-old cut glass crystal dish. Due to the damages I have reduce the price fifty percent.
