Description
Here is a Selsi 7×35 binocular made by the Selsi Company, Inc. or distributed, which is based in Carlsbad N.J. The Selsi brand of binoculars has been around for a long time. In the 50s to the 80s most of the familiar brands of binoculars like Selsi, Tasco, Sears, Bushnell, and many more were simply acting as a distributors for products that were manufactured by others. In addition, in some cases, a single brand would be bought from a number of different manufacturers. Some of the small binoculars like 6×15, 7×18, 7×35, etc. where manufactured by Seiwa and sold or distributed under other companies names like Selsi, Tasco and other companies. In the timeframe of the 50s to 80s the quality of a particular pair of binoculars did not have as much to do with the brand name that was marked on the binoculars. This set of binoculars is identified as “Selsi Light Weight Coated Optics” and is 7×35 Luminous field 6.8 Deg. with a power of 385ft. at 1000yds. and is marked “Made in Hong Kong.” It has all four dust covers, case with adjustable vinyl shoulder strap, an owner’s manual and the warranty paper. It is in mint condition with no cracks, chips, necks, fleabites, repairs, or stains. In addition, it looks like it has never been.
